Media - Male Gaze - Laura Mulvey

The male gaze is a theory suggested by Laura Mulvey, she suggested that the females portrayed in media all have a similar style of looks and a only there for the sex appeal of the heterosexual male audience; whether the viewer may be male or female the stars are always portrayed through the perspective of a heterosexual male.

Trump Election Media Reaction

The media reacted to Trump in different ways, some kept it quite serious like The Times.. unlike such newspapers The Sun or Liberation who took a more humorous approach to his election win, Liberation made a joke reference to the film American Psycho and stated that Trump was a "american psycho". The Sun also used the adult cartoon show The Simpsons to reference Trump, they stated that Trump was "predicted" to be President 20 years before it happened in The Simpsons.

Film Evaluation

Genre: The genre for my film will be a thriller, i have chosen thriller as i enjoy the genre and have an understanding of the genre. i will be able to focus on the codes and conventions of this genre making my movie up to a quality standard. Costume: The costume for the film hasn't been to focused on as the costumes i wanted the characters to wear is what my actors would usually wear on a daily basis, this saved a lot of time during production as i didn't have to get the actors to go out and find the specific clothes. Film Title: Taking Chase Short Longline: Two young adults are caught in a drug deal and have to go on the run from the DEA, while on the run they discover something unusual. Characters: David ( Robert Halligan) Danny (Tom Anderson) Undercover Officer/Dean ( Joseph Simmons) Shooting Schedule- Mondays and Tuesdays - Off Campus - Some shots in the VPA Building Camera Angles- The camera angles i used were pretty basic, i tended to use long shots to capture...

Daily's Production Part Two

When i was shooting i couldn't really book out rooms as at the times they were busy to record shots, when i could use the rooms i wanted i used my time wisely and got the shots i needed; within the time i had i managed to capture some of my shots as you can see from my previous post. The camera was easy to use but i had problems trying to get it to focus on some shots and also keeping it steady when i couldn't get a tripod to use for my shots.

Film Editing

After i had shot all my film, i put it together in Adobe Premiere Pro, i chose Premiere Pro as it is an easy software to cut and edit footage. The footage i got could all be put into Premiere Pro and then i could drag it onto the movie timeline; after it has been dragged into the timeline i could cut little things out that were flaws in the footage and also clip shots together. Some shots i added music into my movie, the music i used was from youtube which i referenced in my music sheet. The music was simple to put in as i could cut to the part i wanted then drag it to the section of the movie it was being used. The audio was simple as i could turn up the decibels making it more louder and clear for the audience to hear. I could also clip different camera shots together making it into editing techniques; for example i could use two pieces of footage to make it look like a shot reverse shot.
